Size and fitting guide

Your Measurements

Fitting may vary according to the styling and ease required for the various fabrics. Use the measurements as a guide.
Bust: Measure around the fullest part of the bust and across the shoulder blades.
Waist: Measure around the natural waistline.
Hips: Measure around the fullest part of your hips, approximately 20cm below the natural waistline.

About Our Classic Fit

We thought you might like to know that some of our garments with “stretch” (lycra or elastane) in them are often more figure hugging than those that don’t have it. And please also note that any of our pants which are made of non–stretch fabric will feel smaller than those with “stretch” in them, for obvious reasons!
Each garment description includes an indication of how each garment is designed to fit. We generally find the best way to get a good fit is to measure your bust and hips and then check the size chart to find the measurements that are the closest (don’t worry too much about the waist measure). If you are between sizes select the next size down. All of our clothes are designed to fit comfortably so unless you like a really roomy fit order the smaller nearest size to your measurements.
All of our call centre staff will do their best to answer any other product questions you might have, so don’t be afraid to ask them for help!

Our New Improved Fit

We are always seeking ways of improving what we offer and one of the most tangible ways we can demonstrate that is by constantly improving the fit and quality of our clothes. Based both on your feedback and our own observations over the last year we have come up with a revised set of fits and new size range.
So what does this mean?
Basically it means that we have reduced the ‘jump’ between sizes, so you should now be able to buy a size smaller than you used to. So for example if you’re around a size 16, but found our current size 16 was a little too snug, and yet the size 18 was too big, you should now find that you can wear the new size 16 comfortably.
We’ve also adjusted our measurements to ensure that the sleeves don’t get longer and longer, and that the shoulders of our garments sit on our shoulders and not halfway down our arms, and finally we’ve now have a better fit around the armholes on our tops, especially the sleeveless ones – no one likes the ‘saggy baggy’ look do they?
Of course there is always room for more improvement, so please feel free to tell us (constructively!) what you think of the new fits and sizing and we’ll use this information to further fine tune our measurements.
All of the styles that have this new sizing are listed as ‘New Fit’ in our catalogue. If you have any questions about the new sizes please just ask one of our team, they’ll be happy to help.
